A history of excellence

HSA has a longstanding reputation for excellence in upper extremity care. Hand to Shoulder Associates began in the early 1970s as a single-physician hand surgery practice located in the growing industrial area of Elk Grove Village, Illinois. Over the last 40 years, we have become a renowned center of excellence, recognized across the state for our specialization in injuries and problems of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand. The first replantations of upper extremity amputations in Chicago were performed by one of the co-founders of HSA in the 1970s.

With our main office still located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, HSA is the largest non-university single specialty hand group and one of the largest in the Midwest.

This history, paired with our commitment to advancing patient care and embracing cutting-edge technologies, has made us a notable center of excellence in orthopedics and microvascular surgery.
